Bockkeller-Durchlass
A picturesque historic ruin and passage along Vienna's famous Stadtwanderweg 1, nestled in the vineyard-covered hills of Grinzing in the 19th district. The steep but rewarding path climbs through one of Vienna's most scenic wine-growing landscapes, passing traditional Heurigen (wine taverns) and offering sweeping views over the city. The ruins themselves are evocative — a crumbling stone archway that hikers discover mid-trail, its origins a mystery to most who pass through. The route is fully paved, making it accessible with a stroller, though the incline is a genuine workout. Signage is poor near parking lot P — at the lot's end, turn left down the narrow path to the stream. Free and open at all times. Best finished at one of the wine taverns along the way for a glass of Gemischter Satz.

The path is paved end-to-end — stroller-friendly, but steep enough to count as a real workout (and it doubles as a service road, so step aside for cars).
