From 12 November to 20 December the forecourt of BahnhofCity Wien Hauptbahnhof turns into a Christmas market, open daily 14:00-20:00 with free entry. Expect punch and mulled wine (including a charity punch on selected days), regional bites and hot snacks, an ice-stock (Eisstock) lane bookable in slots, afterwork evenings with DJ sets, a wheel of fortune, caricature drawing, plus Christmas crafts, face painting and letters to the Christkind for children. The opening on Thursday 12 November at 18:00 starts with the ÖBB choir followed by an afterwork DJ; the station shops stay open until 21:00 on weekdays, so it pairs easily with after-work Christmas shopping.
